Lasso Professional Server 8.5 provides full code backward compatibility down to Lasso Professional 7. Consult the Lasso 8.5 Language Guide for full upgrade instructions. Some code changes are required in order to update sites from Lasso Professional 5 or Lasso Professional 6. These code changes are documented in full in the Upgrading section of the Lasso 8.5 Language Guide.
