Lasso includes comprehensive documentation which will help you get started with Lasso and serve as an in-depth resource for you to find out more about Lasso's built-in language features and functionality.

Lasso Reference
Lasso provides an online Lasso Reference that is available hosted either at LassoSoft http://reference.LassoSoft.com or locally in each installation of Lasso. The Lasso Reference provides documentation, syntax examples and detailed information about every tag and data type in Lasso. The reference also includes helpful utilities for regular expressions, XPaths, and Unicode characters.

Getting Started
This guide provides installation instructions for Lasso and walks the user through creating simple Lasso-powered Web pages. The guide also includes instructions for using the Lasso Examples Pack to explore what Lasso is capable of.

Lasso Examples Pack
Included in the download with Lasso, the Lasso Examples Pack includes four examples which demonstrate the power of Lasso. Each example comes complete with source code and documentation. The examples include a Blog, Message Board, Collaborative Site, and Quick Poll.

Setup Guide
The Lasso Setup Guide includes detailed installation instructions as well as documentation of Lasso's built-in administration interfaces, database browser, and security model.

Language Guide
The Lasso Language Guide includes both introductory material for new Web developers and detailed reference material for experienced developers who want to expand Lasso's functionality. Overview and Fundamentals chapters introduce the concepts of Web applications and basic programming. The guide also includes in-depth chapters about each of Lasso's data sources, data types, supported protocols, and other programming topics. Also includes documentation of the APIs which can be used to extend Lasso through LassoScript, C/C++, or Java.

Upgrading
Users who are upgrading to Lasso 8.5 from earlier versions of Lasso should read the Upgrading section in the Lasso 8.5 Language Guide for important information about changes to Lasso's language between versions.
