I have Acrobat Pro 9 and am wondering if there is a command line option that I can use to initiate a scan and save the PDF file to a specified name. Currently I initiate scans run the Acrobat software, create the B&W scan from the scanner, name the file that is saved, and then import the file into my database.I'd like to automate the process and control the scanning/saving from the database itself. I hope I have explained this OK and would appreciate any suggestions on how to automate the process.
Thanks!

Re: Scanning/saving from command line
Even Acrobat 8 Professional has the option "Create PDF" which includes scanning as an import route, either B & W or in color.

Re: Scanning/saving from command line
Thanks, Bill, for getting back to me. I have been capturing scans from within Acrobat since version 8. What I really want to know (and probably didn't make clear) is whether I can automate the process with a Windows batch file (or, alternatively, vbScript) without actually having to make the menu selections in Acrobat. I'm guessing that Acrobat doesn't support any command line interface and thought I'd ask those more familiar with its options than I am.
Thanks again for your help.
