I've tried creating a new folder named 'Yojimbo' in my idisk directory. I've selected this folder as the Sidekick folder. The sync is on and working. When I access the Sidekick 'index' file from my iphone mobileme app, all I get is list of some random files in my Yojimbo library and a text box that does nothing other than enter text. Excuse my ignorance, but how does this work?? Thanks for any help.

It does work. Make sure that idisk syncing is turn on under system prefrences/mobileme/idisk then give it time to sync and resync

Re: Does Sidekick work with Mobileme????
For me it doesn't. I have idisk syncing turned on. I have a folder called 'yojimbo' syncing. On my desktop it works fine. When I open idisk on my iphone and click on the index page of that folder I get a list of files. Looks good so far. But when I click on anything, note, bookmark, password, it acts like it will do something, then nothing.
It's so frustrating. I posted in another thread my disappointment in believing that sidekick meant no real iphone app, but several people said that it actually wasn't a bad solution. So I decided it might not matter that I can't add to yojimbo on the iphone. Just having the info ON my iphone would be enough.
But if it IS a solution for that problem, it hasn't worked for me yet. It doesn't work with dropbox, and I can't get it to work on my idisk. So I need to run my own server at home and keep that computer online? Isn't that how webjimbo worked? And unless I've missed it there's almost no information from barebones on how to make this work.
Again, I love yojimbo. I hate complaining. I just wish this was simpler. VoodooPad has a free iPhone app that syncs perfectly. That's all it does. You can't add any info. But for putting the info on my iPhone it works flawlessly, with no directions needed. I wish yojimbo had something, anything, similar.

It sounds like Sidekick is working fine, exporting to your local iDisk, which is then getting syncing to the cloud. So far, so good.
The problem is the iPhone iDisk app does not resolve links. So when you open an HTML page in the iDisk app, it doesn't load the required style sheet or JavaScript files, and links to other pages don't work. This is an Apple issue, not Bare Bones.
However, you can still access your Yojimbo Sidekick on your iDisk with a web browser. For example, if you send your Sidekick export to a folder titled "Yojimbo" in your iDisk's Documents folder and it gets synced to the cloud, you can access it by pointing your browser to (substitute your MobileMe username for "<username>"):
You'll be prompted for your MobileMe username and password, then you should see the Sidekick index page.
Note that by specifying "https", instead of just "http", all your data will be encrypted while in transit between the iDisk server and your browser. However, anything that's not already encrypted by Sidekick will remain unencrypted while residing on the actual server. Does that make sense?

Re: Does Sidekick work with Mobileme????
Thanks so much Dennis. The address was a little different than what you gave me, but very close. I ftp'd into my idisk, went to the index page, and copied the path, and then it worked as you said.
Not bad, and I like that the entire thing is password protected. It's a little slower than an actual 'app' would work, but it does what it says.
I think I'm going to try a few other apps, but if I come back to yojimbo at least I know how sidekick works. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks, Dennis.
Apple tech support had told me there was no URL for a site on my iDisk, unless I had created the site using Apple's software, or had put it on my public folder...
Sidekick on iDisk is pretty great, though I'll still keep some Yojimbo data on the iPhone itself, for times when I'm off line.

Hello Thomas, Could I ask you to expand on how the URL was different from what Thomas gave you? Could be useful information. Thanks...
