A date is an object that represents a particular date and time. The [Date] tag represents the current date and time if it is called with no parameters. The [Date] tag can be called with a string that contains a date or date and time in order to create a new date object.
The following formats are automatically recognized by Lasso as valid dates. Numbers can be specified with or without leading 0s or spaces. Times are always in 24-hour format.
MM/DD/YYYY
MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS
YYYY-MM-DD
YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS
The output of date objects is always in standard Lasso date format (DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS) unless one of the format tags is used to output a different format.
Date objects can be manipulated using member tags and mathematical symbols. Duration objects are often used in concert with date objects to perform calculations.
[Date]
[Date: 'DD/MM/YYYY HH:MM:SS']
[Date: 'YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS']
See the Lasso 8 Language Guide for examples of how to use this tag.
