[String->Uppercase] modifies the base string in-place converting all characters to uppercase. This string does not return any output, but the base string is modified.
[Variable: 'myString' = 'String Variable']
[$myString->Uppercase]
[Variable: 'myString']
Use the [String->Uppercase] tag. The following example outputs a sample string converted to upper case.
[Variable: 'myString' = 'A quick brown fox']
[$myString->Uppercase]
[Output: $myString]
A QUICK BROWN FOX
