[ date->week ]

Method

[Date->Week] is an accessor for getting or setting the week field for a date object.

Getting uses no parameters and returns the week as an integer from 1 to 53 for a specified Lasso date/time object. Note that either the first or last week of the year may fall partly in the previous or next year. In this case the first days of the year may be part of week 52 or week 53, or the last days of the year may be part of week 1. Weeks in Lasso start on Sunday by default.

Setting requires an integer parameter, and supports the =, += and -= operators. Setting modifies the date object in-place, but does not return a value.

[Date->Week] is a synonym for [Date->WeekOfYear].

  • Syntax
Date Object->week
Date Object->week=Integer
Date Object->week+=Integer
Date Object->week-=Integer
Examples
  • Beginner

To get or set the week field of a date object:

Use the [Date->Week] method. The following example uses a single date object, then gets the week and returns its value.

Next we set the week field to a new value using the = operator, then set it again by adding 1 to the week using the += operator, and set it once more by subtracting 1 from the week using the -= operator. We return the result for each set operation.

Code

local(d) = date('2011-02-21 08:00:00')
#d->week + '<br>'
#d->week=52
#d + '<br>'
#d->week+=1
#d + '<br>'
#d->week-=1
#d
